Seamless Gutter Installation in Montura, FL

A repeat customer in Montura called Solid Makers back for a third project: adding seamless gutters to a barn or equipment shed. We had already completed gutter work on the house and built the property's pool screen enclosure, so this smaller installation continued a relationship built through previous projects.

Back in Montura for Project Number Three

This wasn't our first time working at this Montura property. Solid Makers had previously installed seamless gutters on the home and completed the pool screen enclosure. The customer called us back again, this time to install gutters on a smaller barn or equipment shed used around the property.

Repeat work is part of the story here: the customer had already seen our work on two previous projects and brought us back for another one.

Fabricating the Seamless Gutter on Site

The main run shown in the project was measured at approximately 24 feet. The gutter was fabricated on site with the seamless gutter machine rather than assembled from multiple short stock sections.

Before installation, we also checked the structure behind the fascia and the fastening depth so the screws could secure the gutter without unnecessarily exposing their tips on the other side.

Securing and Sealing the End Caps

The video shows the end-cap tool mechanically biting the cap into the gutter. After the cap is secured, silicone is applied inside the connection to seal it.

Field detail: Small details such as end-cap fastening, sealant and screw length matter even on a relatively small gutter job.

Custom-Cutting Wedges for Angled Fascia

One side of the structure had noticeably angled fascia. A full wedge created too much correction, so we test-fitted the gutter and trimmed the wedge until it better matched the actual fascia angle.

The goal was to bring the gutter into a better position beneath the roof edge so it could catch runoff correctly. The opposite side did not need the same correction because its roof and fascia geometry were different.

Why it matters: On this project the wedge wasn't simply installed straight out of the box. It was cut and test-fitted for the structure.

Making Gutter Straps From Gutter Material

Where a small section transitioned around the structure, the crew positioned the pieces first and marked the seam. A strap was then fabricated from a piece of the same gutter material and installed over the joint.

This allowed the strap to cover the seam while tying the pieces together cleanly—one of the field-fabrication details shown clearly in the project video.

Downspout and Drainage

With a run of roughly 24 feet, the gutter was positioned to move water toward the planned downspout. Even on a small structure, gutter position and downspout placement determine whether the system actually manages roof runoff correctly.

Another Montura Project Complete

Once everything was tied together, this became the third project Solid Makers had completed for the customer: seamless gutters on the house, the pool screen enclosure, and now seamless gutters on the barn or equipment shed.

This real Montura project also supports the work we perform throughout the Clewiston-area portion of Hendry County.

Crew status: One gutter job down. Another one waiting. No time to get comfortable.

Project FAQs

How were the gutter end caps installed?

The end caps were mechanically crimped into place and sealed on the inside with silicone.
